Considered one of the most important Colombian fashion designers. She graduated as a fashion designer in “Les Ecoles de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne” in Paris, 1993, the most traditional school of haute couture in the world. In addition to working in the haute couture houses of Christian Dior and Christian Lacroix practice where she implemented her knowledge in this field. In 1993, she won the first contest Dentelle de Calais lace.

In Colombia, with her mastery of haute couture she began her career with fresh ideas for designing wedding dresses and evening couture, with meticulous style and sophisticated thorough that characterizes her work. Later in 1999, she opened her boutique and expanded her line of prêt a porter de luxe, highlighting the essence and qualities of each woman.

Since her first show in April 1996 her clothes began to be published in the editorials in fashion magazines nationally and internationally.

Maria Luisa Ortiz has been invited to participate in Colombiatex Inexmoda and Colombiamoda from August 1996 until now, showing his collections in major fashion shows in the country as Caliexposhow 2008 and 2009, and the Fashion Circle sponsored by Peroni brand, America and Milan, Italy.

She has worked for fabric Lafayette, Coltejer Tejicondor, Fabricato, Sutex among others. In 2003 she was called to participate in the Identity Project Colombia. This work was carried to Milan at the invitation of the Italian Fashion Chamber in 2004. It was also the special guest Fights Poverty Fashion in Washington DC in October 2006.

In January 2006, she launched her brand of intimate apparel: Cecibelle, Colombiatex within others, supported by the Lycra brand. She is beginning to export to Central America and the United States. In the corporate area she has developed unique designs for various firms.
